MicroblogMonday Oh The Places You'll Go

I have so many favorite books from when my kids were little and I would read to them. One of my all time favorites is the classic by Dr Suess - Oh The Places You'll Go

The possibilities in life are endless and the message in the book is fun and inspiring.

I asked my kids what their favs were from growing up and here's what they said:
#1 Child - The Giving Tree by Shel Silverstien
#2 Child - Green Eggs and Ham by Dr Suess
#3 Child - Love You Forever by Robert Munsch

What are your favorite children's books?

  1. For some reason, from when they were very little, I like the Thomas the Train books and the Gossie books. One of them is about a stubborn gosling friend who's rolling around in his egg and won't come out. My kids say they remember me sitting them in my lap and rolling around every time the egg rolled in the story. They might truly remember because I probably was still reading that book to them when they were 6 or 7 because I didn't want to let it go and move on.

    1. What a nice memory! I am not familiar with the Gossie books. I'm planning on stopping in a bookstore today so I'll look for it. Thanks for reading and commenting!

  2. From my childhood, I remember how fascinated I was with the Enid Blyton Series. There are many that I can think of from my childhood. Short stories by Ruskin Bond as well :)

    1. I will check out Literacy Musings. Thanks! I read the Nancy Drew books growing up and could not get enough of them. My kids did not ... they are not as in to mysteries as I am.

  5. Also have you heard of Betty Cavana. I lived her book Accent on April. My school library had a dismal collection. Most of their collection in the late 1970's featured 1950 and 1960 teen fiction it was elementary school.

    1. The Giving Tree was a gift to my sister and I from old neighbors when we moved out of town and I still have it to this day (35 years later). I am not familiar with Tango Makes 3. Will check it out. Thanks for reading and commenting!
